PipeChain is a privately owned, Swedish headquartered company with more than 300 active customers in over 20 countries with more than 10,000 system users.
In 1997 when Internet was new, Per Grettve, a serial entrepreneur and founder of PipeChain, realized that it could be used to connect customers and suppliers in common processes.
That was the start of an idea to design next-generation supply chain systems. Per choose to explain the principals using the metaphor of water. When you turn on the tap, the whole supply chain senses the demand. This was why he called the system PipeChain®.
The company was founded in 1999 with the vision to integrate and automate the entire supply chain end-to- end based on a demand-driven replenishment concept. When the Internet bubble burst 2002, the company was repositioned to better match the market maturity and cover both systems connectivity (including EDI and portals) as well as cloud-based process control and improvements.
As a consequence, PipeChain acquired two companies in 2005 within the connectivity space (EDI and portal business), which were integrated into PipeChain. This became the start of the solutions we offer our customers today.
